What is Kasu
Kasu is a technology platform that democratises access to private capital markets, for everyday lenders and for specialist lending companies (Credit Originators) alike.
For Lenders#
Through Kasu, you lend to specialist lending companies (Credit Originators) that make short-term loans to creditworthy businesses (End Borrowers), with sound credit risk structuring in place and a demonstrable track record of performance. Credit Originators specialise in loan structuring and credit underwriting in specific verticals: professional services firms, the small and medium-sized business clients of those firms, and licensed payment companies settling remittances. As a lender on Kasu, you earn interest on your loan, capitalised weekly.
The difference is how that interest is generated. Kasu only partners with fintech lending companies: leading software and payments businesses in their fields. Each holds a genuine structural advantage in its vertical, so risk is managed at the source.
For Lending Companies (Credit Originators)#
For Credit Originators, Kasu is a platform that unlocks access to global capital markets, with the infrastructure needed to operate and manage a lending business at scale.
Kasu is not a Managed Fund#
Three key elements make Kasu different from a fund, and they matter to how everything else in these docs is described:
- Your loan is a separate loan. When you lend on Kasu you make your own loan, on its own terms, to the Lending Strategy you choose, and it is recorded separately in your own Digital Wallet. It is one of many separate loans standing side by side in that strategy, ranked by the Lending Option you chose.
- The Credit Originator lends its own book. It assesses and approves each End Borrower, services each loan, and holds and enforces the security and recourse mechanisms in its own right. Kasu does not lend to the underlying businesses (End Borrowers) itself and does not manage the Credit Originator's loans.
- Everything that matters is disclosed where you act on it. Each Lending Strategy publishes the same set of facts before you commit: who the borrowers are, what security stands behind the loans, what controls operate, what covenants apply, and how the strategy has performed.
Kasu is not a bank. Lending is not a deposit and is not covered by any guarantee. Your capital is at risk, interest is not guaranteed, and repayment depends on the businesses repaying their loans. See Risk Warning. Please read it before you lend.
