Historical Track Record
Lending Strategy Details Section#
Each Lending Strategy displays a Details section. The first section of this page reveals the broad statistics which carry scope lines so that similar-looking figures are never confused: the Credit Originator's figures cover its entire lending history, across all its loan types, including lending types it does not offer through Kasu, whether or not funded through Kasu; the strategy's Activity figures cover this Lending Strategy only, across all regions, since it began. Two loss rates therefore appear: the originator's, across everything it has ever lent, and the strategy's, across the funds lent through it on Kasu. Each is labelled with its scope.
Loan Tapes#
The Details section also provides a loan tape for each Lending Strategy. A Loan Tape is a loan-level record of the strategy's underlying loans, provided by the Credit Originator and updated periodically. Figures are as at the tape date shown and in the currency of the underlying loans. It shows facts, not classifications: how many loans are active, what was originated, what has been repaid and what remains lent (the three reconcile: originated equals repaid plus active), the typical loan, the spread of loan sizes, and the schedule on which principal is due back. Counts are of loans, not borrowers; a business may have more than one loan at a time.
Risk Reporting (coming soon)#
Risk Reporting is where performance and classification live. It shows arrears and losses as the Credit Originator's credit policy defines them, alongside what the loan tape's schedules show, and explains any difference between the two. A loan past its scheduled date is not necessarily in default: the credit policy defines when a loan is in arrears or default, and the Credit Originator's collection mechanics operate before either classification applies. Any shortfall that is ultimately not recovered appears in the Historical Loss Rate.
