Lending Request Outcomes
At the close, the Credit Originator may accept your request in full, accept it in part, or reject it, depending on the capacity of the Lending Option you chose. The outcome appears as the detail line under your request's Completed status, and any amount not accepted is returned to your Digital Wallet.
Reallocation to a more senior option#
If the Lending Option you chose is oversubscribed, your request may be filled instead in the next more senior option that has capacity. A more senior option ranks ahead in the event of losses and carries a lower rate. This is disclosed on the Confirm screen before you submit, and the outcome is shown as "Reallocated to [option]" on the request. If no option has capacity, the funds are returned.
Cancelling a Lending Request#
A Queued request can be cancelled from My Loans at any time until its cycle closes. It cannot be cancelled once that cycle has closed.
Minimums and capacity#
Each Lending Option shows its minimum and the capacity currently available. Requests above available capacity are filled to capacity, with the remainder returned.
Choosing whether your funds go to a particular business (opt in and opt out)#
Your loan is your own, and you keep a say in where it goes. Once your Lending Request is accepted, the Credit Originator has up to 30 days to identify an End Borrower for your funds. When it does, you are told which business your funds will be lent to, and you have 48 hours to choose:
- Opt out: your funds are not lent to that business and are returned to your Digital Wallet.
- Opt in: your funds are lent immediately, without waiting for the 48 hours to pass.
- No response: after 48 hours you are treated as having opted in, and your funds are lent to the business named. Once lent, funds are only returned through the normal Withdrawal Request process.
The choice is made in My Loans, and the same choice is offered every time your funds move from one End Borrower to another. Notifications are also sent to the email address you verified with, so it is your responsibility to make sure Kasu's emails are not filtered as spam; Kasu accepts no responsibility for a missed notification.
If no End Borrower is identified within the 30 days, your funds are returned to your Digital Wallet. Interest is earned from the start of the cycle at which your request was accepted, whether or not your funds have yet been lent to a business.
Your loan's record#
If your request is accepted, a permanent record of your loan is placed in your Digital Wallet. It is your proof of the loan and of your rights under your Loan Agreement, it is held on the blockchain so that nobody, including Kasu, can alter it, and it cannot be sold or transferred. Your Loan Agreement and your wallet software refer to this record as a Token; these docs call it your loan record.
